Changes from 1st April 2025
You may have heard about the recent ‘Save Our Salons’ protest at Parliament, where we joined fellow professionals to support the British Hair Consortium’s call for tax reform.
Salons face disproportionate VAT and rising labour costs, with wages making up 60% of expenses, taxing us up three times more than other high street businesses. This financial strain threatens jobs, training, and fair pricing.
To sustain our quality service and support our team, key changes take effect from 1st April 2025.
Despite these challenges, our commitment to education, sustainability, and community remains strong. Here’s what’s changing:
Green Charge
Sustainability is at the heart of our salon. To maintain our eco-friendly practices, we're introducing a £2 optional Green Charge to help fund waste reduction, sustainable products, renewable energy and responsible recycling. This small contribution helps us stay committed to our green initiatives while working towards becoming a Certified B Corporation (B Corp).
Vish: Smart Colour Pricing & Less Waste
We're excited to introduce Vish, the leading colour management system in our industry; so what does that mean for you?
You will be paying for the price of application + the amount of colour product used.
This technology ensures:
- Fair, accurate pricing: You pay only for the exact amount of colour used.
- Less waste, more sustainability: Helps us minimise excess product.

Changes to Blow-dry with Colour Services
We are updating our options to provide flexibility and choice:
- Cut & Blow-dry: upgrade to a full cut & blow-dry service for a complete refresh.
- Blow-dry with a Stylist: enjoy a blow-dry with one of our experienced stylists. Prices vary depending on the stylist's level.
- Apprentice Blow-dry (£25): a styled blow-dry at a reduced rate when compared to a stylist. This is to support our apprentices in their development, a common practice in our industry.
- Complimentary Rough-dry: using only the hairdryer and hands, no brush, diffuser or tools used.
Price Adjustment Later This Year
To uphold our standards and invest in sustainability, we’ll be adjusting our pricing later this year. Details will be shared in advance, and we remain committed to fair, transparent pricing.
